The journal International Shipbuilding Progress (ISP) was founded in 1954. Each year two issues appear (in March and September). Publications submitted to ISP should describe scientific work of high international standards, advancing subjects related to the field of Marine Technology, such as:

  • The contents of the papers may be of a fundamental or of an applied scientific nature and must be of the highest novelty and rigor.

On the longitudinal reduction factor for the added mass of vibrating ships with rectangular cross-section

Abstract: The added mass of vertically vibrating ships with rectangular cross-sections is discussed. The ship is approximated by a cylinder with a rectangular cross-section. Water motions in the direction of the axis of the cylinder are taken into account. The effect of gravity is neglected.

The heavy-lift vessel “Adventurer”

Abstract: The paper gives an account of the details of design and some of the more interesting problems which were involved in the construction of the Adventurer . The hull form, model experiments and details of hull structure are given and particular reference is made to the interesting features of the vessel for heavy-lift operation, including a comprehensive description of the 180 ton heavy derrick and equipment.
