The journal International Shipbuilding Progress (ISP) was founded in 1954. Each year two issues appear (in March and September). Publications submitted to ISP should describe scientific work of high international standards, advancing subjects related to the field of Marine Technology, such as:

Computation of pitch and heave motions for arbitrary ship forms

Abstract: Analytical methods are used to determine the pitch and heave motions in headwaves for three ship forms of the destroyer type. A computational method using a multiple coefficient transformation for the ship cross-sectional shapes is used. Transformation methods for arbitrarily shaped ship sections are discussed. The results front computation and experiment are compared. Agreement is found to depend significantly on the accuracy of the cross-section transformation. Cost relations of the treatments of ship hulls and the fuelconsumption of ships

Abstract: An analysis has been made to the costs of different methods of surface preparation of ships’ hulls, the costs of application of paints and the costs of different paint systems. By comparing the total costs of several painting schemes with the costs of drydocking over four years, it has been found that one use of better paint systems has economic advantages.
