The journal International Shipbuilding Progress (ISP) was founded in 1954. Each year two issues appear (in March and September). Publications submitted to ISP should describe scientific work of high international standards, advancing subjects related to the field of Marine Technology, such as:

Abstract: The Authors give the results of experimental research which was carried out in order to gain more knowledge about some aspects of the behaviour in service of crankshafts and their bearings. These results show some phenomena concerning the flexibility of ship hulls, engine bedplates and crankcases on the one hand, and with the rigidity of crankshafts on the other. They have made several comments and mention the practical possibilities of limiting the most harmful effects and also give some general ideas which might prove interesting for future applications.

Abstract: A comparison between calculated and experimentally determined motions and vertical wave bending moments is made for a number of Series 60 hulls to study the applicability of two calculation procedures based on the strip theory. The investigations comprise variations of the block coefficient, hull proportions, longitudinal radius of .gyration and forebody section shape. The calculations were carried out with the equations of motion introduced by Korvin – Kroukovsky and with those of Vossers. The differences between the two procedures and their effect on the calculated behaviour of the ships in regular waves are analysed.
