The journal International Shipbuilding Progress (ISP) was founded in 1954. Each year two issues appear (in March and September). Publications submitted to ISP should describe scientific work of high international standards, advancing subjects related to the field of Marine Technology, such as:

Abstract: The finite element method has been used to compute buckling loads for some typical examples of ship-plating. The results show good agreement with those obtained with a simplified buckling analysis. In addition a linearized large deflection analysis has been performed for a plate structure loaded by a combination of in-plane and normal pressure. This analysis demonstrates the gradual growth of the deflections due to the normal pressure until at a certain load-level the buckling mode becomes dominant.
