Abstract: The identification effects of different modal parameters (displacement mode, rotation mode, and curvature mode) of the beam structure on structural damage during crack initiation are studied in this paper. Firstly, the displacement mode, the rotation mode and the curvature mode of the two-span simply supported beam are calculated using the vibration response. Secondly, combining the multi-resolution and singularity analysis characteristics of continuous wavelet transform, the wavelet transform coefficients of three modal parameters are calculated to identify the singularity of structural modal parameters. Thirdly, the recognition effects of each method on structural damage are compared by adding different degrees of random …noise to the simulation data. The results show that the damage identification methods based on three different modal parameters can locate small-scale structural damage, but the anti-noise performance of each method is different, the anti-noise performance of the rotation mode is the best, the displacement mode is second and the curvature mode is poor. Finally, the experimental data is used to verify the recognition effect of each damage identification method based on different modal parameters on the actual structural damage. The experimental results show that the damage recognition effect of the rotation mode parameters is better, while the displacement mode and the curvature mode parameters are similar, but the curvature mode method is more likely to be interfered at the smaller damage. These analysis results provide a reference for the selection of different damage identification parameters according to the environment and response characteristics in engineering practice. Show more

Abstract: To obtain the static shape of the continuous steel plate and vibration characteristic, we performed the analysis of the multi-body dynamics in which the continuous steel plate was discretized in many solid bodies. The shape of the steel plate obtained by the measurement experiment was agreement with the static shape of the steel plate obtained by the analysis. Then, dynamical analysis was performed when white noise input to the steel plate. It was confirmed that the vibration could be suppressed when the electromagnets were installed in consideration of the static shape of the steel plate.

Abstract: For the electrical anisotropy of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP), conductivity of unidirectional CFRP laminate in three directions was inverted in this paper. The three-dimensional eddy current electromagnetic model of unidirectional composites was constructed by ANSYS software, and the influence of the electrical conductivity of the material on the detection signal of the probe in the longitudinal, transverse and thickness directions was studied. In order to improve the amplitude of the probe output signal induced by the change of conductivity, the optimal detection angle of the eddy current probe was determined. On this basis, the relationship between the conductivity and …the detection signal was studied to estimate the initial values of the conductivity based on the experimental data obtained by the eddy current testing (ECT). According to the forward model, the theoretical probe voltage under the estimated conductivity were calculated. The database consisting of conductivity and corresponding theoretical results was built for the neural network to construct the mapping that can estimate conductivity by experimental results. Using neural network for iteration, the conductivity was inverted quickly and precisely. Show more

Abstract: With running speed increases, the dynamics characteristic of railway vehicle system behaves intensively, such as, snaking motion, bifurcation problem, even digression accident. These questions effect ride comfort and run stationary. The magneto-rheological (MR) damper can continually change its state in a few milliseconds and has low energy requirement and insensitivity to the temperature and circumstance. MR dampers have turned out to be a promising device in vibration control. According to the nonlinear of MR damper and the vibration characteristic of semi-active suspension of high-speed vehicle, a seventeen-degree-of-freedom lateral semi-control model of high-speed whole vehicle with MR dampers is established. Taking …into account of the vibrations of vehicle and electromagnetic interference, a novel adaptive fuzzy control strategy is put forward. The simulation results show that adaptive fuzzy control method can improve the ride comfort and restrain electromagnetic interference. The electromagnetic interference noise problems in high-speed railway vehicle system with MRD are analyzed and discussed according to EN 55022 for the first time. Show more

Abstract: To overcome the negative environemental impact of the actual power system, an optimal description of quasi-static electromagnetics relying on a reversible interpretation of the Faraday’s law is given. Due to the overabundance of carbon-free energy sources, this description makes it possible to consider an evolution towards an energy system favoring low-carbon technologies. The management for changing is then explored through a simplified linear-programming problem and an analogy with phase transitions in physics is drawn.

Abstract: Recently, the interest in model predictive control (MPC) and dual three-phase drives has been growing rapidly. Due to the high redundancy of voltage vector in the system composed of dual three-phase permanent magnetic synchronous motor (PMSM) and six-phase inverter, the computational complexity and current harmonics of MPC are high. In addition, the zero vector has been used by traditional MPC, which will cause higher common-mode voltage. In this paper, a novel MPC method with twice predictions and synthetic vectors is proposed which can not only suppress common-mode voltage, but also reduce computational complexity and current harmonics. The mathematical model of …a dual three-phase PMSM are verified by the experimental results under the common-mode voltage suppression. Show more

Abstract: The calculation accuracy of unbalanced magnetic forces (UMF) is very important to the design of rotor length, because it will effect the shaft deflection. But in some permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) with fractional slot concentrated windings (FSCW), the UMF caused by asymmetrical stator topology structure is not considered in the existing deflection calculation, which is very fatal for the operational reliability, especially for the PMSMs with the large length-diameter ratio, such as submersible PMSMs. Therefore, the part of UMF in the asymmetrical stator topology structure PMSMs caused by the choice of pole-slot combinations is analysized in this paper, and …a more accurate rotor deflection calculation method is also proposed. Abstract: In order to simulate the high-temperature superconducting (HTS) linear acceleration (SLA) system for the pellet injection, the integration method of the applied magnetic field generated from the acceleration coil has been proposed. To this end, the regularization technique is used in the evaluation of the improper integrals, and simultaneously, a FEM code is developed for analyzing the shielding current density in an HTS film. In addition, the SLA system has been simulated using the code. The results of the computations show that the accuracy of the applied magnetic field is considerably improved. In this sense, the regularization technique is a …useful tool. Also by locating the outer coil, the acceleration time during which the pellet speed reaches 5 km/s is about 3.5 times shorter than that of the only use of the inner coil. These results mean that the outer coil is effective in the improvement of the acceleration performance for the SLA system. Show more

Abstract: In order to improve the electrochemical performance of the neural electrode the polyaniline coatings were modified on roughened Pt (PANI/rPt1 ) electrodes using electrochemical method. The roughness factor (f R up to 424) of Pt surfaces increased significantly through electrochemical roughening processing. PANI/rPt electrodes showed excellent interfacial properties. Specifically, about 5.6-fold increase in the charge density of PANI/rPt (f R = 424) was observed, while the interfacial impedance (103.5 Ω) was reduced by 50% compared to that of PANI coatings on the smooth Pt surfaces (PANI/sPt2 ). The results indicate the potential application of PANI/rPt as …an efficient and stable future neural interface. In addition, the wear test shows that the coating did not fail during the wearing period and holds an excellent wear resistance ability. Show more

Abstract: Piezoelectric Stack Actuators (PEAs) have been widely used in high-precision positioning system because of its fast response. However, under different excitation voltages and external loads with dynamic frequencies, the width and inclination of PEAs hysteresis curves verified correspondingly, and exhibit asymmetry phenomenon. The main contribution of this paper is to present a two-input asymmetric dynamic cross-coupled hysteresis (TADCH) model to describe the complex nonlinear hysteresis of PEAs in dynamic excitation and loading engineering applications. Moreover, we also develop the corresponding identification method of TADCH model. Finally, several experiments are carried out to verify the accuracy of the proposed model.
