Abstract: In the current automobile industry, the demand for ultra-compact vehicles as a means of transportation for elderly people and other travelers, has been increasing. The effect of vibration on the ride comfort of these vehicles is significant because of their small size and low weight. The vibration will increase the discomfort perceived by persons in the vehicle. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a vibration control system for safe and comfortable driving. To improve ride comfort, this research group proposed an active seat suspension using a voice coil motor at the seat section of the vehicle. In this study, the …influence of jerk on the psychological state, which was obtained from bioinstrumentation, was investigated. Show more

Abstract: Thrust performance is one of the important indexes of permanent magnet linear synchronous motors. The traditional non-oriented silicon steel sheet is used as the core material of the permanent magnet linear synchronous motor, which limits the performance of the permanent magnet linear synchronous motors. For the oriented silicon steel sheet has a higher magnetic permeability in the rolling direction, a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor with similar number of poles and slots made of oriented silicon steel is proposed in this paper. By measuring the B -H curves of the rolling direction and the cutting direction, the thrust properties …of the two motors made of traditional silicon steel sheets and oriented silicon steel sheets are analyzed and compared by the finite element method (FEM) under rated load and overload conditions respectively. The thrusts under different tooth-yoke ratios are discussed in the end. Show more

Abstract: A novel magnetic shape memory alloy (MSMA) actuator is proposed in this paper, which has fast response speed and large deformation, and its nonlinear dynamic response and control are studied. A new differential term is developed to explain the MSMA’s stress-strain curves. The dynamic model of the MSMA actuator subjected to harmonic magnetic field and random disturbance is established, and its nonlinear dynamic characteristics are obtained. Finally, the stochastic dynamic programming control is introduced to enhance the drive accuracy. The results show that the perturbation plays an important role in the system’s dynamic response; dynamic programming control can improve the …actuator’s accuracy in strong stochastic perturbation. These results will be helpful for the optimal design and development of MSMA actuators. Show more

Abstract: The leakage magnetic field which induced by the inner surface groove during loading had been measured from the outer surface in geomagnetic environment. Compared the variation of the leakage magnetic field along the load with the location and development of the groove, it was found that two phenomena are relate to the magnetic field aberration. The relation can be described by the pink-pink value and the gradient of the magnetic field aberration. This result can be used to evaluate and monitor the inner defect by the magnetic field aberration characters.

Abstract: The formulation for the azimuthal component of the magnetic vector potential for axisymmetric magnetostatic applications is well known. However for transient magnetic fields with solid source conductors and eddy currents the formulation has to be revised. A variable transformation is introduced to remove the singularity from the numerical scheme. The numerical error cannot accumulate and is put instead to the postprocessing at every time step.

Abstract: In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic characteristics and control of a Galfenol-shape memory alloy (SMA) composite plate under stochastic excitation are studied. New nonlinear differential terms are applied in the constitutive modeling of Galfenol alloy and SMA, and the nonlinear dynamic model of the composite system is developed. The drift coefficient and the diffusion coefficient are calculated to obtain the steady-state probability density function of the system, and finally the optimal control strategy is proposed to improve the effects of vibration reduction. Numerical simulation and experiments results show that the system has abundant nonlinear dynamic characteristics, including stochastic Hopf bifurcation …and limit cycle bifurcation. The stochastic optimal control strategy can improve the effects of vibration reduction efficiently. These results are helpful for the application of Galfenol-SMA composite structures. Show more

Abstract: To understand the complicated dynamic behavior of a Nonlinear Piezoelectric Energy Harvester (NPEH), this paper develops an improved Complex Dynamic Frequency (CDF) method based on complex normal form. CDF introduces a dynamic frequency factor and establishes a set of algebraic equations in handling the effect of higher-order nonlinear terms in a wide frequency band to obtain periodic responses of NPEH. Numerical and experimental studies verify that the proposed CDF gives consistent and accurate predictions of the systems with both weak and strong nonlinearity. Furthermore, through an implicit relationship between magnet arrangement and output performance, one may effectively control the sweep …frequency with softening and hardening characteristics. That is a major breakthrough toward the further nonlinear design for broad bandwidth harvesters. As the application, the experimental results reveal the high response profiles can be in a wide frequency range from 10.8 Hz to 24.5 Hz for the NPEH developed that allows an output power of 9 times higher than the conventional linear structure. Abstract: As an important equipment for satellite signal reception and transmission, the satellite antenna needs to be rotated in real time to achieve real-time tracking of the target and complete signal transmission during applications. Antenna driving mechanism is generally composed of motor and other components, which will cause some structural vibration during rotation. For high-stability satellite applications, the vibration disturbance torque is a major factor affecting the satellite stability. In order to study characteristics of the disturbance torque, the disturbance data from the antenna under different rotation conditions should be measured. In this paper, the frequency characteristics of disturbance torque of …a rotating satellite antenna using stepper motor as driving motor is tested and discussed. Show more
