Abstract: Vibration of a silicon rubber membrane containing a magnetic compound fluid is experimentally investigated. Both the silicon rubber that contains clusters of magnetic particles and the rubber that contains magnetic particles being distributed almost uniformly are oscillated by an impulsive magnetic field. The differences of damping ratio and the maximum displacement of both kinds of the membranes are examined.
Keywords: Magnetic compound fluid, silicon rubber, vibration, impulsive magnetic field
