Abstract: Previous studies demonstrated that visual stimuli activate auditory cortex in deaf subjects [1,2]. In this paper, we used electroencephalography (EEG) in hearing subjects to evaluate whether auditory cortex comes to serve the visual modality after visual/auditory training. In the perceptual feedback training, the hearing subjects were trained to relate certain visual sources to particular sound sources. In the results, we found that visual activity was observed in the auditory cortex when only the visual stimuli were given to the subjects and feedback training improved the subjects' ability to associate visual actions with particular sound sources.
