Abstract: In this paper, the rotor part of the SRM (switched reluctance motor) is designed by topology optimization method. The objective function is the desired system energy profile considering the rotation angle of the rotor. The topology optimization method can design the optimal shape and topology of SRM rotor without any prior knowledge of the basic rotor layout. The density method is used to establish the relationship between the design variables and material properties, and mutual energy method is used to calculate the design sensitivity.
