Abstract: This article deals with a theoretical framework for sustainable development. We define sustainable development as a balanced socioeconomic development compatible with environmental conservation. To begin with, we argue against the short-run macroeconomics. We also take issue with the classical paradigm of development consisting of Self-Interest and Invisible Hand. We, then, elaborate on our value premises consisting of basic assumptions and general features relevant to a new paradigm for sustainable development. Finally, we describe the mathematical characteristics of long-run variables, society–economy interactions, continuous development, and so on.
Keywords: Own hands, thought frame, trend preference rate, trend interest rate, long-run equilibrium condition, long-run multiplier
