Lessons from Japanese Management Failures in Foreign Countries

Abstract: Many of the Japanese firms are poor at management adaptation in foreign countries and have lost talented foreign employees. A considerable percentage of American managers in foreign posts have low capacity for cultural adaptation and lose themselves or able local employees. This article gives concrete examples of Japanese failures, in which Americans can recognize their weaknesses and strengths.
