Abstract: In this paper, a novel descriptor called Weber Discrete Wavelet Transform (WDWT) is proposed. It effectively recognizes facial expressions. WDWT uses unique combination of Weber Local Descriptor (WLD) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) for efficient extraction of illumination invariant features from multi scale images. The proposed descriptor’s effectiveness is evaluated under different challenges on facial expression recognition problem. Experiments are performed on the standard face databases and results show that the proposed technique performs better than traditional LBP and WLD over a range of low resolution images. A significant decrease in the feature dimensions and substantial increase in recognition accuracy …rate has been observed. Show more

Abstract: There are a lot of applications of multi-agent systems, such as robot navigation, distributed control, data mining, etc. Reinforcement learning (RL) is a popular method used in multi agent path planning. RL algorithm needs an accurate representation of a small and discrete space. In order to plan multi agents in continuous time, this paper approximate the Q-values with the fuzzy logic, such that the modified RL can work in continuous state space. The fuzzy reinforcement learning proposed in this paper uses fuzzy Q-iteration algorithm and a modified Wolf-PH algorithm. The convergence and existence of the algorithm are proven. The continuous …time planning algorithm is applied to a cooperative task of two mobile Khepera robots. The experimental results show the effectiveness of the new path planning method for the multi agents in continuous time. Show more

Abstract: Traditional multiple deferred state sampling plan by attribute is a plan with crisp parameter. In this plan, both the current lot information and the future successive lots information are utilised on sentencing the current lot. In the present paper, firstly the authors propose a fuzzy multiple deferred state (FMDS) sampling plan by attribute when the fraction of defective items (p ) is a fuzzy number. Then the proposed plan is developed to the state where the inspection is not perfect. Since p is assumed to be imprecise, the fuzzy probability theory is used to plot the operating characteristic (OC) …curve of the proposed plan. It was seen that the OC curve of the proposed plan has upper and lower bounds (say FOC band). Some practical examples are given to make more realization. Finally, it was made a comparison between FMDS(0,1,2)-plans with and without the inspection errors (type 1 and 2 errors). The obtained results showed that the inspection errors have a negative influence on the accuracy and performance of the FOC band of the proposed plan. Show more

Abstract: Dual hesitant fuzzy information aggregation plays an important role in dual hesitant fuzzy set theory, which has received more and more attention in recent years. In this paper, we first define a new concept of hesitancy degree under dual hesitant fuzzy environment, and then based on the hesitancy degree, we propose a series of dual hesitant fuzzy point operators, which can reduce the uncertainty and get more intensive information from the original dual hesitant fuzzy information. By combining dual hesitant fuzzy point operators with the dual hesitant fuzzy arithmetic aggregation operators, we also further develop various generalized point aggregation operators …for aggregating dual hesitant fuzzy information, such as the generalized dual hesitant fuzzy point weighted averaging (GDHFPWA) operators, generalized dual hesitant fuzzy point ordered weighted averaging (GDHFPOWA) operators, generalized dual hesitant fuzzy point hybrid aggregation (GDHFPHA) operators. Furthermore, we investigate the prominent properties of these operators in detail, and discuss the relationship between the proposed operators and the existing ones. Show more

Abstract: In this paper, regular graphs are studied in the context of a single valued neutrosophic environment, where for each element the truth-membership degree, indeterminacy-membership degree and falsity-membership degree are independently assigned in [0, 1]. Firstly, the novel concepts of regular, edge regular, partially edge regular and full edge regular single valued neutrosophic graphs (SVNGs) are proposed and some of their properties are investigated. Then strongly regular SVNGs and biregular SVNGs are defined. The notion of single valued neutrosophic digraphs (SVNDGs) is introduced along with its application in multi-attribute decision making (MADM).

Abstract: The Choquet integral is a very useful way of measuring the expected utility an uncertain event. In this paper, we use the Choquet integral to propose intuitionistic fuzzy Choquet integral correlation coefficient as a new extension of existing correlation coefficient for intuitionistic fuzzy correlation coefficient. The extended correlation coefficient not only globally consider the importance of the elements or their ordered positions, but also can overall reflect their correlations. Furthermore, when the weight information about criteria represented by intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFSs) is incomplete known, a fuzzy measure model for the optimal measures on criteria set is established, which can …be used to determine the criteria fuzzy measure. Then, an evaluation formula of intuitionistic fuzzy Choquet integral correlation coefficient between an alternative and the ideal alternative is proposed. The considered alternatives can be ranked and the most desirable one is selected. To comparative analysis, we also apply the Ye’s method [49 ] to solve the problem based on intuitionistic fuzzy correlation coefficient. Finally, a comparative analysis of the two methods is used to assess the green supply chain choice. Show more

Abstract: Real-time crash prediction is crucial in traffic management on freeway to improve traffic safety. This study presents an optimized crash prediction model on freeway with over-sampling techniques based on Support Vector Machine (SVM). The model was constructed with traffic data collected by discrete loop detectors from a 48.7 km segment on the G60 Freeway, Shanghai, China. Matched case-control method and SVM were applied to identify the high-risk traffic flow status. Two kinds of over-sampling techniques have been conducted to optimize the raw samples. The adaptive synthetic over-sampling technique presents better performance than the synthetic minority over-sampling technique according to the nonparametric …test. The results indicate that SVM classifiers with the adaptive synthetic over-sampling technique improve the accuracy and robustness when dealing with imbalanced data. Mean Impact Value method was employed to rank the contributing factors leading to crash. This research contributes to more targeted strategies for real-time safety management of freeway. Show more

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to develop a new methodology for solving bi-matrix games with payoffs of Atanassov’s intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) numbers (IFNs), which are called IF bi-matrix games for short. In this methodology, we propose a weighted mean-area ranking method of IFNs, which is proven to satisfy the linearity. Hereby, the concept of Pareto optimal solution of IF bi-matrix games is introduced and the Pareto optimal solution can be obtained through solving the parameterized non-linear programming model, which is derived from an IF mathematical programming model based on the proposed weighted mean-area ranking method of IFNs. Validity and …applicability of the model and method proposed in this paper are illustrated with a practical example of two commerce retailers’ strategy choice problem. Show more

Abstract: In the last decades, numerous optimization-based methods have been proposed for solving classification problems in pattern recognition. These methods mainly construct a straight line or a hyperplane to separate a given data set to be two classes. In this paper, we propose a new nonlinear classifier based on the Choquet integral with respect to a signed efficiency measure, and the boundary is a broken line (two considered attributes) or a Choquet broken-hyperplane (more considered attributes). Firstly, the Choquet distance of two points in n -dimensional space is proposed. Secondly, according to the Choquet distance, two nonlinear classification optimal models are …presented. Finally, some experimental results show that the efficiency of the models for solving classification problems. The related results enrich the research of classification problems in pattern recognition. Show more
