Abstract: The multi-granulation fuzzy rough sets (MGFRS), proposed by Xu [35 ], is a meaningful contribution in the view of the generalization of the classical rough set model. In this paper, the main objective is to make further studies based on reference [35 ]. It is shown that the MGFRS do not meet the operations of intersection and union. To solve these problems, we propose the concepts of the equivalence relations with minimum (maximum) element and find that the MGFRS based on the equivalence relations with minimum (maximum) element meet the operations of intersection and union. At the same time, some …algebraic properties of the MGFRS are discussed. Show more

Abstract: Proximity-based Logic Programming is a formal framework for representing general or non-specialized knowledge. Although it is a powerful tool, it is too complex because the values of the proximity equations (fuzzy binary relations that establish the relationships among the symbols of a first-order language) must be manually defined by the designer of the system. In this paper, we propose a new framework for Proximity-based Logic Programming enhanced with WordNet and Interval-Valued Fuzzy Sets. Its main contribution is to compile automatically the information provided by WordNet and generate an interval-valued proximity relation on the set of their words. This proposal is …completely integrated inside the unification mechanism of Bousi ~Prolog system. This allows us to introduce the lexical knowledge induced from a linguistic resource, such as WordNet, into an approximate reasoning system. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that WordNet is introduced into the core of a Prolog system by means of compilation techniques and lexical knowledge is combined with proximity-based unification frame. Abstract: This paper provides a continuation of ideas presented by Davvaz and Corsini in [20 ]. We introduce the concepts of (∈, ∈ ∨ q k )-fuzzy (m, n)-ary subhypermodules and ( ∈ ¯ , ∈ ¯ ∨ q ¯ k ) -fuzzy (m , n )-ary subhypermodules in an (m , n )-ary hypermodule, which are generalization of the concepts as given in [20 ]. Different classes of (m , n )-ary hypermodules are characterized by the properties of these fuzzy (m , n )-ary subhypermodules. Using the notion of fuzzy (m , n )-ary subhypermodule …with thresholds, characterization of fuzzy (m , n )-ary subhypermodules, (∈, ∈ ∨ q k )-fuzzy (m , n )-ary subhypermodules and ( ∈ ¯ , ∈ ¯ ∨ q ¯ k ) -fuzzy (m , n )-ary subhypermodules are discussed. Abstract: In this paper, we introduce the concept of interior Γ-hyperideals of ordered Γ-semihypergroups, which is a generalization of the concept of interior Γ-hyperideals of Γ-semihypergroups to ordered Γ-semihypergroup theory, and investigate its related properties. Furthermore, we define and discuss the fuzzy interior Γ-hyperideals of ordered Γ-semihypergroups. In particular, we give the characterization of fuzzy interior Γ-hyperideal generated by a fuzzy subset in an ordered Γ-semihypergroup. In addition, we consider the concepts of (λ , μ )-fuzzy Γ-hyperideals and (λ , μ )-fuzzy interior Γ-hyperideals in ordered Γ-semihypergroups. Finally, we introduce the notion of (λ , μ )-fuzzy simple ordered Γ-semihypergroups …and prove that an ordered Γ-semihypergroup is simple if and only if it is (λ , μ )-fuzzy simple. Especially, characterization of simple ordered Γ-semihypergroups in terms of (λ , μ )-fuzzy interior Γ-hyperideals is given. Show more

Abstract: This paper describes a hybrid automated trading system (ATS) based on grammatical evolution and microeconomic analysis. The proposed system takes advantage from the flexibility of grammars for introducing and testing novel characteristics. The ATS introduces the self-generation of new technical indicators and multi-strategies for stopping unforeseen losses. Additionally, this work copes with a novel optimization method combining multi-objective optimization with a grammatical evolution methodology. We implemented the ATS testing three different fitness functions under three mono-objective approaches and also two multi-objective ATSs. Experimental results test and compare them to the Buy and Hold strategy and a previous approach, beating both …in returns and in number of positive operations. In particular, the multi-objective approach demonstrated returns up to 20% in very volatile periods, proving that the combination of fitness functions is beneficial for the ATS. Show more

Abstract: A new memetic algorithm named EAMDGA is designed by combining the characteristics of Environmental Adaption Method for Dynamic Environment (EAMD) and Genetic Algorithm (GA). This algorithm is highly efficient and robust in solving the unimodal and multimodal problems. It avoids the problems of getting trapped in local optima and premature convergence. Performance of this algorithm is checked over a group of 24 unimodal and multimodal benchmark functions provided by Black Box Optimization Benchmarking (BBOB-2013). It is found that EAMDGA is superior in performance in comparison to the other algorithms.

Abstract: This paper presented a new fuzzy based optimization framework for wireless link adaptation which maximizes throughput subject to Buffer length, Bit Error Rate (BER) and average power constraints. Buffer constrained throughput of a link is called effective capacity. At first, we present two schemes to optimize the effective capacity of a wireless link, in an analytical approach, with constant or adaptive power transmission. As shown, the scheme with constant power transmission works without any need to probability density function (PDF) of channel’s SNR. However, a considerable performance improvement is seen by using adaptive power transmission at the cost of more …complicated design. In analytical approach, provisioning average power constraint requires knowledge on PDF of the link’s SNR which may not be available in practical systems especially mobile networks. We design a new fuzzy based scheme for adaptive power transmission without any need to PDF which provide instantaneous BER, buffer and average power constraints. Our numerical evaluations for adaptive LDPC or convolutional coded, QAM modulated transmission, show that after a reasonable period of time the throughput of our proposed scheme converges to its optimum value by analytical approach. Abstract: In this paper, a highly non-linear model with six degrees of freedom (DOF) is used for the manoeuvring and depth control of an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV). A simplified scheme to design a conventional fuzzy logic controller known as robust Proportional Derivative (PD)-like Fuzzy Controller (PD-FZ) is designed separately for diving and steering subsystems of an AUV and then applied for combined steering, diving and speed control functions. Simulation results are shown by using the slender form of the Naval Post-Graduate School (NPS, Monterey, CA) AUV. Results of simulation studies using a nonlinear AUV dynamics are presented under the presence …of any bounded ocean currents or wave disturbances and results show that proposed controller gives robust performance against these disturbances and modeling nonlinearity. Waypoint acquisition based on line of sight guidance is used to achieve path tracking. Show more

Abstract: In this paper, we develop an interactive approach to probabilistic hesitant fuzzy multi-attribute group decision making (P-HFMAGDM) with incomplete weight information, in which the assessments provided by the decision makers for alternatives over attributes are expressed by probabilistic hesitant fuzzy elements (P-HFEs) and the weight information on attributes is partly known. Firstly, we propose the axiomatic definition of distance measures for P-HFEs, and then develop several kinds of distance measures for P-HFEs. Afterwards, we put forward the probabilistic hesitant fuzzy positive ideal solution and the probabilistic hesitant fuzzy negative ideal solution, respectively. By using the distance measures for P-HFEs, we …define the closeness coefficients of alternatives, based on which we further establish a multi-objective optimization model to handle the P-HFMAGDM problems with incomplete weight information. Additionally, to facilitate the decision makers to provide new preference information or modify the previous preference information, an interactive approach is developed to deal with the P-HFMAGDM problems with incomplete weight information. Finally, a practical example involving the evaluation of the VR project declaration is provided to illustrate our approach. Show more
