Abstract: This paper aims to study the cross-migrative property for uninorms with different neutral elements. The cases for uninorms in U min , U max , representable uninorms, idempotent uninorms and uninorms continuous in the open unit square are studied, discussing cross-migrative property for all possible combinations of uninorms laying on these classes of uninorms. This study shows that there is no cross-migrativity between representable uninorms and other classes of uninorms, and the relation between conjunctive uninorms and disjunctive uninorms is also the same. The sufficient and necessary conditions such that cross-migrativity equation holds for all of …the other possible combinations of uninorms are given out. Show more

Abstract: Interval type-2 fuzzy sets (IT2 FSs) provide us with additional degrees of freedom to represent the uncertainty and the fuzziness of the real word than traditional type-1 fuzzy sets (T1 FSs). In many applications, ranking of interval type-2 fuzzy numbers is an important component in the decision process. In this paper, the concepts of magnitude mean value and variance of interval type-2 trapezoidal fuzzy numbers (IT2 TrFNs) are introduced and some of their properties are studied.. Then, we propose a new magnitude mean-variance possibility degree method to solve ranking of interval type-2 trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. Finally, some comparative examples are …used to illustrate the advantage of the proposed method. Show more

Abstract: In this paper, the adaptive sliding mode control problem of fractional-order nonlinear systems in the presence of model uncertainties and external disturbances is considered. More particularly, an adaptive interval type-2 fuzzy sliding mode controller is designed for achieving finite-time stability of unknown fractional-order nonlinear systems. First, a nonsingular terminal sliding mode surface is designed to reduce chattering and improve the robustness and effectiveness of the controller. Then, the interval type-2 fuzzy logic is used to approximate the unknown parts appearing in the fractional-order nonlinear system model. Following these are augmented by a novel adaptive interval type-2 fuzzy sliding mode controller …which can guarantee the stability of the target system in a finite time. In terms of Lyapunov approach, the adaptive laws are designed, meanwhile the proof of the corresponding finite-time property is presented. Finally, three examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed strategy. Show more

Abstract: The main motivation behind this paper is to study some structural properties of a non-associative structure (LA -semigroup) in terms of fuzzy sets as it hasn’t attracted much attention compared to associative structures. An LA -semigroup can be referred to as a non-associative semigroup, as the main difference between a semigroup and an LA -semigroup is the switching of an associative law. In this paper, we introduce and characterize fuzzy (0, 2)-ideals, fuzzy (0, 2)-bi-ideals and fuzzy (1, 2)-ideals of an LA -semigroup. We give a new and alternate definition for a strongly regular element of …a unitary LA -semigroup and show novel conditions under which a strongly regular LA -semigroup becomes an LA * * -semigroup. These characterizations do not exist in literature before this work. As an application of our results we get characterizations of a strongly regular LA -semigroup in terms of fuzzy one-sided ideals and fuzzy bi-ideals. Finally we introduce and investigate the properties of fuzzy inner-unitary LA -subsemigroups in an LA * * -semigroup. These concepts will help in verifying the existing characterizations and will help in achieving new and generalized results in future works. Show more

Abstract: Z-number, a new concept describes both the restriction and the reliability of evaluation, is more applicable than fuzzy numbers in the fields of decision making, risk assessment etc. However, how to deal with the restriction and the reliability properly is still a problem which is discussed few and inadequately in the existing literatures. In this paper, firstly, a new improved method for ranking generalized fuzzy numbers where the weight of centroid points, degrees of fuzziness and the spreads of fuzzy numbers are taken into consideration is proposed, which can overcome some drawbacks of exiting methods and is very efficient for …evaluating symmetric fuzzy numbers and crisp numbers. Then, a procedure for evaluating Z-numbers with the method for ranking generalized fuzzy numbers is presented, which considers the status of two parts ((A ˜ ,B ˜ )) of Z-numbers and gives the principles of ranking Z-numbers. The main advantage of the proposed method is utilization of Z-numbers which can express more vague information compared with the fuzzy number. In addition, instead of converting B ˜ to a crisp number as the existing methods of ranking Z-numbers did, the proposed method retains the fuzzy information of B ˜ which can reduce the loss of information. Finally, several numerical examples are provided to illustrate the superiority and the rationality of the proposed procedure. Show more

Abstract: Due to high cost of marine structures, health monitoring plays an important role in their maintenance. State of art evaluation systems are highly dependent on human judgment and consequently can be controversial. In order to minimize human interaction in maintenance of such structures, a novel classification system named as Marine Structure Health index (MSHi) is presented. This health index delivers a quantified value that can represent health condition of the structure and could potentially have extensive applications in the evaluation process. In this paper twelve types of distresses have initially been investigated and rated and then a method based on …fuzzy Delphi analytic hierarchy process (FDAHP) was developed. A case study shows the application of the developed method. Show more

Abstract: The cloud model, which mainly reflects the uncertainty in the real life and the concepts in human knowledge: fuzziness and randomness. Actually, many practical problems occur in uncertain environments, especially in the situations where the information about all the criteria weights, criteria values and expert weights are uncertain linguistic variables called uncertain pure linguistic problems. For this purpose, In this paper, we present an approach to multi-criteria group decision-making with uncertain pure linguistic information based on the cloud model. To do so, firstly, the uncertain linguistic values are converted into integrated cloud and interval integrated cloud, respectively, and the cloud …decision-making information are converted into generating floating cloud and generating floating interval cloud by the cloud operational laws. Secondly, by means of the Hamming distance and closeness degree, the ranking of all alternatives is determined. Finally, a numerical example and comparative analysis with related decision-making methods are provided to illustrate the practicality and feasibility of the proposed method. Show more

Abstract: In this paper, we discuss two special classes of 2-uninorms which we call uni-nullnorms and null-uninorms. They are combinations of uninorms and nullnorms. We prove that uni-nullnorms (resp. null-uninorms) are dual to null-uninorms (resp. uni-nullnorms) under a strong negation. We study their classifications, structures and idempotence. Moreover, we investigate De Morgan triples for uni-nullnorms and null-uninorms.

Abstract: Ontology integration is an important work when several heterogeneous ontologies share or exchange their knowledge. It takes the two heterogeneous ontologies as input, and carries out three important steps: (1) creating mappings for the similar concepts from different ontologies based on the similarity calculation; (2) merging the mapped concepts into a new one, and generating a network-based model, called integrated model; (3) reconstructing the integrated model in order to obtain an integrated ontology (a tree-based model). However, the methods of merging concepts and generating integrated ontology have not been well discussed. To this end, this paper proposes an Ontology Integration …Method based on Semantic Mapping, called OIM-SM. Firstly, OIM-SM calculates similarities for the concept-pairs, in which concepts are from different ontologies, and creates semantic equivalent mappings for the concept-pairs based on their similarities. For the mapped concepts, OIM-SM merges them to generate an integrated model. Then, the merged concepts are used to split the integrated model into blocks. Finally, OIM-SM re-aligns the concepts in the same block by analyzing the semantic relationships among them, in order to generate an integrated ontology. Some ontologies from the real world are used to test OIM-SM, and the results indicate that OIM-SM performs encouragingly well in the aspect of ontology integration. Show more

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to introduce the notions of fuzzy filters, fuzzy (positive) implicative filters and fuzzy fantastic filters in pseudo hoops and investigate some of their properties. Some characterizations of fuzzy filters and fuzzy implicative filters are derived. The relation among these fuzzy filters are investigated and it is proved that any fuzzy fantastic and fuzzy positive implicative filter is a fuzzy implicative filter. Finally, we define a congruence relation by fuzzy filters on pseudo hoops and prove that if μ is a fuzzy normal implicative filter or fuzzy positive implicative filter, then A /μ …is a Boolean algebra.
