Abstract: The fuzzy rule base is essential for the performance of fuzzy systems. However, because of many uncertain effects and a great deal of noise in practical industrial applications, the Wang-Mendel (WM) algorithm may extract bad fuzzy rules or fuzzy rules with low confidence that decrease model performance. Moreover, the efficiency of the WM algorithm is affected by scale of the dataset. To address these issues, this paper proposes an improved WM algorithm that optimizes samples before training the fuzzy system using the clustering algorithm. Furthermore, the proposed method enhances its accuracy by using the weighted distance among samples to extract the …complete fuzzy rule base. Moreover, the proposed method can adaptively calculate the number of fuzzy partitions and standard deviation of the Gaussian membership function of each variable. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method performs well for the datasets. Show more

Abstract: Spatiotemporal object management has been a topic of increasing interest in many application areas such as meteorological information systems, geographic information systems, and dynamic social networks. Because of increasing requirement for these applications, modeling and querying spaitotemporal objects are two core issues of spatio-temporal object management. However, spatiotemporal objects are not always crisp, but fuzzy and uncertain. This brings about the need for modeling and querying fuzzy spatiotemporal objects. In this paper, we propose a novel model for representing fuzzy spatiotemporal objects and their topological relations. Based on this model, we investigate how to design basic and complex fuzzy query operators so …that it is possible to describe the evolution of fuzzy spatiotemporal objects over time. We also show how to integrate these query operators into the existing query language SQL to enable fuzzy spatiotemporal queries. Show more

Abstract: Replication technology can efficiently enhance data availability and thereby increase system reliability in cloud storage system. However, one urgent challenge is how to select the correct replica hosting sites, as different data center configurations lead to entirely different storage service quality. Additionally, users usually have individual requirements; some may care more about reliability while others are more likely to be concerned about cost. This paper investigates choosing the most suitable replica storage sites using an analytic hierarchy process (AHP) model by applying fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to candidate data centers for different kinds of users. First, a novel four-dimensional Qos (quality …of service) model of cloud storage service is proposed. Then, a Qos preference-aware algorithm is introduced to deal with individual Qos sensitivity (IQS) constraints. In order to evaluate the candidate replica storage sites and select the best choices from among them, an algorithm based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation is designed and implemented. Corresponding simulation results indicate that the strategy is suitable to serve various IQS users very well with better effectiveness and practicality. Show more

Abstract: This paper introduced a new measurement method called intuitionistic fuzzy linguistic soft set (IFLSS) to represent individual points of view for decision-makers to evaluate attributes of different alternatives. IFLSS combines an intuitionistic fuzzy set and linguistic soft set to help users utilize a set of linguistic variables to perceive an aspect from different points of view. This method utilizes intuitionistic fuzzy numbers to measure the matching grades among the affirming, objection, and hesitation of linguistic variables which are more diversified and pragmatic than the traditional intuitionistic fuzzy sets and two-dimensional uncertainty linguistic variables. A generalized weighted aggregation operator for IFLSS …was also developed, and two methods were proposed to settle relevant decision-making problems. At last, an example in numbers was given for illustrating the application of IFLSS in decision-making, and the practicality and effectiveness of the proposed methods were verified. Show more

Abstract: The main goal of this paper is to investigate set valued homomorphisms on hyperrings and construct popularized lower and upper approximations operators via them. Also, we put forth the concept of generalized lower and upper approximations respect to a hyperideals of hyperrings. The results of this paper can be regards as generalizations of related results in generalized lower and upper approximations in rings, which is introduced by Yamak.

Abstract: Most existing methods use only network topology information, which neglect much other important information such as the network background information which could be useful to uncover the network communities. In this paper, we proposed a fast semi-supervised algorithm to uncover the fuzzy network communities using label propagation technology, which incorporating the prior information to facilitate the community detection process. Specially, we know the true community membership of a certain percentage nodes in advance. Firstly, the node graph is transformed to line graph, and the weight of line graph are defined. Then, the proposed algorithm is applied in the line graph …to propagate the label of certain labeled nodes to the whole network until convergence, and the final label of a given node is its community id. It worth mentioning that our algorithm is very fast and with almost linear time complexity. Extensive simulations using both synthetic and real-world benchmark networks are performed to verify the algorithmic performance. Show more

Abstract: Aiming to improve the algorithm of the classic fuzzy C-means model (FCM), a double fuzzy C-means model (DFCM) was presented in this paper. A new fuzzy cluster validity index (RWW ) and the DFCM algorithm were proposed, simultaneously. Then, the double fuzzy C-means model was applied for the clustering analysis of the regional technology innovation level in China. The validity of the double fuzzy C-means model was tested using the wine data set of UCI. The comparison results of different cluster validity indexes validated the fuzzy cluster validity index (RWW ) proposed in this paper. The application example and wine …data set clustering results indicated that the DFCM model enhanced the intra-class compactness and inter-class separation, making the classification more accurate. Abstract: This paper studied the two-sided matching problem based on interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets and matching aspirations, the related concepts of which were described. In order to solve this problem, the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy matrices were transformed into interval score matrices and score matrices. Based on the score matrices, matching aspiration matrix, and matching matrix, a two-sided matching model under the conditions of one-to-one two-sided matching was developed. Therein, matching aspirations were calculated using the maximum reciprocal-deviation principle. Considering the statuses of all agents on both sides were the same in most situations, the two-sided matching model was converted into a …single-objective optimization model using the linear weighted method. “Optimal” two-sided matching was obtained by solving the model. At the conclusion of the study, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method was illustrated with an example of matching executives with positions. Show more

Abstract: Demand forecasting is very important, both in academic and business practice. Intermittent demand forecasting has bothered managers and scholars for a long time. The zero demand point and extreme high values in the demand time series make it difficult to forecast. Under this condition, the fuzzy time series model performs well in eliminating the side effects of extreme data. To make our model more stable, we review the latest intermittent forecasting literature and combine the Multi-Aggregation Prediction Algorithm (MAPA) and the fuzzy Markov chain model to generate a new forecasting algorithm. In this paper, we use the material demand data …of STATE GRID Corporation of China to test the forecasting accuracy of the new forecasting algorithm, as well as compare the results to the exponential smoothing (ES) model and the new forecasting algorithm. The results show that FMC-MAPA with an equal weight method in the time disaggregating process is the best forecasting method in this case. The forecasting ability of this method is more stable and robust in different fuzzy partition numbers and data adjustment than the ES and FMC model. We also study the impact of data adjustment on forecasting error. The results indicate that the unadjusted data have lower forecasting errors when compared to the linear trend adjustment, additive seasonal adjustment and the combination of these two adjustment methods. Abstract: In this work, a new ranking approach of triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFNs) is proposed and applied to solve multi-attribute decision making (MADM) problems. Firstly, I use a weighted average operator to introduce the risk preference of the decision maker (DM), and construct the score and accuracy expected functions of TIFN. Then, based on these concepts, a ranking method for TIFNs is developed considering the DM’s risk preference. Subsequently, a decision procedure is described to deal with the MADM under a triangular intuitionistic fuzzy environment. Moreover, a novel distance measure for TIFNs is defined and utilized to determine the attribute …weights. Finally, a trusted cloud service selection example verifies the effectiveness and practicality of the developed method. Show more
