Abstract: A new method to solve non-linear mixed-integer constrained power distribution system expansion planning problems in presence of distributed generations (DGs) is investigated in this paper. The objective functions of this model are total energy not supplied (ENS) as reliability index, total expansion cost, and total voltage deviation. The final optimal solution proposes type, location and size of new equipment to meet the demand growth in the distribution system. An intelligent population based optimization algorithm called Binary Shuffled Frog Leaping Algorithm (BSFLA) is proposed to solve the problem. The interactive fuzzy method is used to solve the multi-objective optimization problem, so …that conflicting objective functions can be easily consider together and achieve a set of non-dominated (Pareto-optimal) solutions. The model is applied on a standard IEEE distribution system to demonstrate the efficiency and feasibility of proposed method. Show more

Abstract: This paper presents a novel approach for robust speed control of medium size induction motors using neuro-fuzzy dynamic sliding mode control. First, a simple dynamic model of induction motors is introduced. Then, a conventional sliding mode control is presented. To reduce the chattering phenomenon, dynamic sliding mode control is designed using a secondary PID-type sliding surface. Moreover, in order to eliminate the tedious trial and error procedure in choosing a proper uncertainty upper bound, uncertainties have been estimated using a neuro-fuzzy system. The online training of the neuro-fuzzy dynamic sliding mode control is based on the adaptation law derived from …the stability analysis. In addition, the reconstruction error of the neuro-fuzzy system is compensated to guarantee the asymptotic convergence of the speed tracking error. Simulation results verify that the neuro-fuzzy dynamic sliding mode control is robust against various uncertainties including parametric variations, external load disturbance, unmodeled dynamics and input voltage disturbances. Abstract: This article will introduce K -modal BL -logic and investigate some properties of this new logic. Consequently, T -modal BL -logic and S 4-modal BL -logic, as schematic extensions of K -modal BL -logic, will be dealt with. Likewise, the algebraic semantics based on each logic will be constructed. Finally, the soundness and completeness theorems of these logics will be proved.

Abstract: The concept of soft set theory was introduced by D. Molodtsov in 1999 for modeling uncertainty. In [13] a special kinds of soft sets, namely soft neighborhood set, was defined and the relations between this concept and classical topology was given. In this paper, our aim is to extend the studies in [13]. We study on some properties of compactness and lower separation axioms in soft neighborhood sets and generalize Alexander subbase theorem and Tychonoff theorem to soft neighborhood sets.

Abstract: The existing information aggregation operators are always the extensions of the ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator on weighting form or data type. In this paper, the generalized ordered weighted exponential multiple averaging (GOWEMA) operator is developed based on a minimization problem with penalty function. It unifies the geometric mean and the generalized ordered weighted averaging (GOWA) operator with the generalized ordered weighted harmonic averaging (GOWHA) operator in the same formulation. Then the main properties and families of the new operator are investigated. Moreover, an orness measure of the GOWEMA operator and the generalized lest squares method (GLSM) are presented to …determine the GOWEMA operator weights. Finally, we give a numerical example of an investment selection to illustrate the application of the GOWEMA operator to multiple attribute group decision making. Show more

Abstract: One of the frequently used multi-attribute decision making (MADM) methods is VIKOR, which provides a compromise solution with maximum group utility and minimum regret of decision makers with non-commensurable and conflicting attributes. In the literature, VIKOR method has been extended to the fuzzy case using type-1 fuzzy sets. Type-2 fuzzy sets let the fuzzy membership functions to be defined for providing us more design degrees of freedom and flexibility. In this paper, we developed an interval type-2 fuzzy VIKOR method including a fuzzy ranking method for interval type-2 fuzzy sets. Interval type-2 fuzzy weights for decision makers’ strategies have also …been used in the proposed method. A sensitivity analysis has been applied to see the behavior of our decision with respect to the changing weights of maximum group utility strategies. We showed the applicability of the proposed method through an existent problem in the literature. Show more

Abstract: The power-average (PA) operator and the power ordered weighted average (POWA) operator are the two nonlinear weighted-average aggregation tools whose weighting vectors depend on the input arguments. The purpose of this paper is to develop the 2-tuple linguistic generalized power average (2TLGPA) operator and the interval 2-tuple linguistic generalized power average (I2TLGPA) operator. We first propose the 2TLGPA operator and the 2-tuple linguistic generalized power ordered weighted average (2TLGPOWA) operator. Then, we extend these operators to uncertain environment and obtain the interval 2-tuple linguistic generalized power average (I2TLGPA) operator and the interval 2-tuple linguistic generalized power ordered weighted average (I2TLGPOWA) …operator. They can reflect the relationship among the aggregation values by considering the support for each value from others. We further investigate some desired properties of the developed operators, such as idempotency, boundedness, etc. We also present two kinds of approaches to deal with multiple attribute group decision making problems under 2-tuple linguistic and interval 2-tuple linguistic environment by using the proposed aggregation operators. Finally, a practical example is given to illustrate the application of new operators to multiple attribute group decision making process. Show more

Abstract: Nonadditive set functions represent contribution rate of individual feature attributes and combinations of feature attributes toward the target. Their nonadditivity describes the interaction among contributions. The generalized weighted Choquet integral with respect to a nonadditive set function serves as an aggregation tool, which may be used in the nonlinear objective function of optimization problems, to project n -dimensional feature space onto a real axis with a corresponding projection value. In this paper, we propose a special genetic algorithm model to identify the values of feature attributes that maximize the value of the objective function involving a generalized weighted Choquet integral. …Thus, we may find the values of the feature attributes giving the greatest contribution toward the target. This is a generalization of linear programming to nonlinear cases. Show more

Abstract: The newborn’s skull consists of bones and fibrous, membrane-covered tissue composed of fontanels and sutures. Newborns have six fontanels at birth. Clinical assessment of the size and other variations of fontanels after birth are very important because fontanels with abnormal size and shape are indicators of several disorders such as increased intracranial pressure. The most important fontanel for clinical examination and diagnosis in newborns is the anterior fontanel. It has a rhomboid-like shape and is situated at the junction of the two parietal and two frontal bones. A clinical method commonly used to measure anterior fontanel size was first described …by Popich and corresponds to the mean value of the length (anteroposterior dimension) and the width (transverse dimension). The length and width are measured on the skin of the newborn’s head. In this study, we propose a method for extraction of the anterior fontanel in order to determine its dimensions on 3D computed tomography (CT) images of newborns. The proposed algorithm was applied to CT images from eleven newborns with a gestational age of 39 to 45 weeks. The mean anteroposterior and transverse diameters were 3.51 cm and 3.19 cm, respectively. The mean anterior fontanel size and area were 3.35 cm and 10.5 cm2 , respectively. Show more

Abstract: We discuss the existence of a solution to the Cauchy problem for fuzzy fractional differential equations that accommodates the notion of fuzzy sets defined by quaternion-valued membership functions. We first propose definitions of quaternion fuzzy sets and discuss entailed results which parallel those of regular fuzzy numbers. Two existence results, relevant to the Cauchy problem for fuzzy fractional differential equations in the case of bounded integral operators, are given. The results require either Hölder continuous or Lipschitz continuous response functions.
