Abstract: Optimal operation management of distribution systems requires suitable tools for accurate forecasting. By the appearance of new technologies such as electric vehicles, renewable sources, etc, the variation of the electrical loads is intensified. In order to solve this issue, a new powerful forecast method based on support vector regression (SVR) is proposed to model the behavior of load consumption. According to the high complexity and severity of the problem, a new optimization approach based on firefly algorithm (FA) is proposed to adjust the optimal parameters of the SVR. The new version of FA called θ -FA is used to search …the solutions in the polar space instead of the traditional Cartesian space. The objective function is to minimize the average forecast error considering the SVR constraints. The feasibility and high performance of the proposed method are examined on practical test data. Abstract: This paper proposes a new fuzzy particle swarm optimization (NFPSO), which is based on a new defined population position and velocity diversity measure. The proposed NFPSO utilizes population diversity information to adjust the inertia weight and membership function of fuzzy variable charisma adaptively, aiming to improve the performance of fuzzy PSO algorithms for numerical optimization problems. Experiments compared the proposed NFPSO with standard PSO, fuzzy PSO, ARPSO, DE and ABC algorithms were conducted on a collection of 25 numerical benchmark problems provided by the IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation 2005 special session on real parameter optimization. The results and its …statistical analysis show that the proposed NFPSO algorithm performed well when applied in the multi-modal numerical problems. Show more

Abstract: Profoundly hearing-impaired community (PHIC) cannot moderate wisely an acoustic noise emanated from moving vehicle in outdoor environment. Due to this, they have difficulties to distinguish type and the distance of moving vehicles especially the one comes from the rear. Hence, they are at risk whenever they are outdoors. In this paper, a simple system is proposed to identify the type and distance (zone-based) of a moving vehicle using a multi-classifier system (MCS). One-third octave filter bands approach has been used for extracting the significant feature from the noise emanated by the moving vehicle. The extracted features were associated with the …type and zone of the moving vehicle and the MCS based on multilayer perceptron has been developed. The developed multilayer perceptron model with the same hidden neuron and training algorithm has been proposed for MCS. This network has been tested for single classifier and MCS. The developed MCS has improved the classification accuracy compared to single classifier. Show more

Abstract: In this paper, in order to more rationally represent some imprecise or uncertain multi-channel digital information, the structure of fuzzy ellipsoid numbers is further investigated. Firstly, some results about using couples of specific real functions to represent fuzzy ellipsoid numbers are obtained. Such represented fuzzy ellipsoid numbers can be easy constructed, and can be more rationally (compared with cone fuzzy ellipsoid numbers or paraboloid fuzzy ellipsoid numbers) used to represent some imprecise or uncertain multi-channel digital information. Then, some definitions of special types of fuzzy ellipsoid numbers are presented, and these special fuzzy ellipsoid numbers are all shown to be …extension and promotion of cone fuzzy ellipsoid numbers or paraboloid fuzzy ellipsoid numbers. And then, a method of constructing thus special fuzzy ellipsoid numbers is established from a group of uncertain or imprecise multichannel digital information. At last, some examples and remarks are given to demonstrate the rationality and the advantage of using these special fuzzy ellipsoid numbers defined to represent some imprecise or uncertain multi-channel digital information. Abstract: The Maclaurin symmetric mean (MSM) operator is a classical mean type aggregation operator used in modern information fusion theory, which is suitable to aggregate numerical values. The prominent characteristic of the MSM operator is that it can capture the interrelationship among the multi-input arguments. In this paper, we propose the dual Maclaurin symmetric mean (DMSM) operator and extend the DMSM operator to accommodate uncertain linguistic environment. Some new aggregation operators based on DMSM for aggregating uncertain linguistic information are developed, such as the uncertain linguistic dual Maclaurin symmetric mean (ULDMSM) operator, the uncertain linguistic weighted dual Maclaurin symmetric mean (ULWDMSM) …operator and the uncertain linguistic Choquet dual Maclaurin symmetric mean (ULCDMSM) operator. Meanwhile, some desirable properties and special cases with respect to different parameter values of these operators are studied in detail. Furthermore, based on the ULWDMSM and ULCDMSM operators, two approaches to multiple attribute decision making with uncertain linguistic information are developed. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the feasibility of the proposed methods and deliver a comparative analysis with uncertain linguistic Bonferroni mean (ULBM) operator is also presented. Abstract: The aim of this paper is to evaluate the performance of decision making units (DMUs) with fuzzy data by using the common set of weights (CSW) method in data envelopment analysis (DEA). The CSW, which provides a more accurate assessment and less computation than DEA, has interested researchers. In contrast, classic DEA requires that all data values are known exactly, and imprecise DEA has vague data (fuzzy, stochastic, interval, etc.). The credibility measure, which has its advantages such as support for the imprecise nature of the data, self-duality, and low computation related to other fuzzy methods, is applied to solve …the proposed fuzzy CSW model. In particular, when data are triangular fuzzy numbers, the fuzzy model is transformed into a deterministic linear model. The optimal solution to this problem is the CSW, and the fuzzy efficiency of DMUs is then acquired. A fuzzy ranking approach is extended to compare and rank the DMUs. A numerical example is then presented to compare the proposed method with the method in the literature. The proposed method is also applied to evaluate the performances of chief executive officers of U.S. public banks and thrifts. Show more

Abstract: What kind of information is used and in which way the particles interact with each other have direct effects on the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm efficiency. In order to use the information more fully, effectively and reasonably, the paper proposes a fully and discriminatorily informed PSO (FDIPSO) algorithm. Unlike the traditional PSO algorithm, the algorithm takes the positive effects of all the superior neighbors and the negative effects of the inferior particles into account and employs different mechanisms for attractive and repulsive effects to prevent confusion of swarm evolution caused by the different effects. The superior information is fully …used to build high quality equilibrium points as attractors to guide particles while the repulsive effect from inferior information is embodied by introducing an ‘escape coefficient’ to help adjust the movement of particles. Experimental studies are conducted on a set of well-known benchmark functions including unimodal, multimodal and rotated problems. Computational results show positive effect and negative effect work collaboratively in FIDPSO, verify the relative superiority of this strategy over four other information sharing strategies and indicate that the approach outperforms several other state-of-art PSO variants on the test problems. Abstract: The notion of state is an analogue to probability measure and it has been studied for different types of structures such as MV -algebras, BL -algebras and BCK algebra. In this paper we define the notion of state on EQ -algebras which is algebraic structure of higher order fuzzy logic and we investigate some properties of them. Then we characterize representable class of state EQ -algebras.

Abstract: In this paper, by considering the notion of semihoop, we introduce the concepts of local and perfect semihoops and we state and prove some related results. Specially, we define the notions of some filters such as primary and perfect filters and we get the relation between perfect filters with perfect semihoops and primary filter with the local semihoops. Finally, by defining the concept of locally finite semihoop, we find a relation between local and perfect semihoops.
