Abstract: This paper presents a core vector machine (CVM)-based framework for induction motor drive fault diagnosis. The proposed method can be used for diagnosis of different electrical drive faults such as switches short circuit, switches open circuit, etc. To classify motor drive faults, a CVM has been trained for each one. The proposed CVM-based fault detection algorithm has a very small training time and space in comparison with support vector machines (SVMs) and artificial neural networks (ANNs)-based in addition to the other kinds of fault detection algorithms. The proposed algorithm produces few support vectors (SVs), and therefore is faster than existing …algorithms. One of the main points in application of a machine learning method is feature selection. In this study, a new decision tree (DT)-based feature selection algorithm has been presented. The proposed CVM based framework has been applied to a test case. The simulation results show the effectiveness and the accuracy of the proposed method for fault diagnosis of induction motor drive. The effectiveness of the proposed feature selection algorithm has also been investigated. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed feature selection algorithm. Show more

Abstract: A new design procedure for robust H ∞ control for a class of T-S fuzzy singularly perturbed systems based on fuzzy Lyapunov functions and non-PDC control scheme is proposed in this paper. Using the proposed controller, the closed-loop T-S fuzzy singularly perturbed system becomes asymptotically stable in the absence of disturbances and satisfies the H ∞ -norm condition in the presence of disturbances all positive values of the singular perturbation parameter within the given desired bound. The main drawback of a fuzzy Lyapunov-based approach is that one needs to find some upper or lower bounds for the derivatives of …the grades of the membership functions, which is hard to find in practice. By using natural properties of a T-S model, a novel procedure is proposed to tackle this problem. Using the descriptor redundancy approach, the design conditions are derived in the form of some strict linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Moreover, to cover a more general problem, it is assumed that there exist some uncertainties in the local system matrices of the T-S fuzzy singularly perturbed system. Two examples are presented to illustrate that the proposed design conditions are feasible for larger bounds on the singular perturbation parameter compared to those of previous techniques. Show more

Abstract: In this paper the random fuzzy fractional integral and differential equations are introduced. Under Lipschitz condition we obtain the existence and uniqueness theorems of solutions for two general forms of random fuzzy fractional integral equations. To prove this assertion we use an idea of successive approximations. Moreover, the approach is followed to prove the existence and uniqueness of solutions for random fuzzy fractional initial value problem under Caputo-type fuzzy fractional derivatives. The method is illustrated by solving an example.

Abstract: Hesitant fuzzy sets, introduced by Torra and Narukawa [10] present a powerful tool for study of hesitancy in decision making. The main strength of this generalization will be realized by studying the properties and the operations that can be defined on hesitant fuzzy sets. This paper presents a number of properties in the light of operations defined by Torra [11] and Xia and Xu [13] on hesitant fuzzy sets.

Abstract: In this study a general methodology employing fuzzy analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy goal programming is developed for selection problems. The proposed methodology has two main sub-phases. In the first phase, fuzzy triangular numbers are used in order to represent the comparisons among decision criteria. Then lower and upper bounds as well as mid-values of priorities belonging to each decision criteria are computed. In the second phase these values and fuzzy triangular numbers are entered into the goal programming model and the model is solved to give the final priorities of decision criteria. Then the weighted sum of ratings for …each selection alternative are found where the weights are final priorities from goal programming model. The proposed methodology is presented on a real life roadheader selection problem from mining industry. The results revealed that the methodology is easily applicable and provides satisfactory results. Show more

Abstract: The hysteresis nonlinearity of the magnetically controlled shape memory alloy (MSMA) actuator exerts a great influence on the positioning accuracy. To effectively alleviate the hysteresis nonlinearity of the MSMA actuator, an inverse Krasnosel’skii-Pokrovskii model is established in the paper. Subsequently, a hybrid control scheme which is composed of a hysteresis inverse model feedforward controller and a PID feedback controller is proposed to further improve the positioning accuracy of the MSMA actuator. A differential evolution algorithm is adopted to tune the parameters of PID controller. The experimental results show that the proposed control scheme is effective for improving the positioning accuracy …of the MSMA actuator, and the maximum positioning error rate is 0.55%. Show more

Abstract: In this paper, we introduce the concept of hyperfilters of an ordered semihypergroup, and present some examples in this respect. Furthermore, we define and discuss the fuzzy hyperfilters of ordered semihypergroups. We also introduce the concept of completely prime fuzzy hyperideals of an ordered semihypergroup S , and establish the relation of fuzzy hyperfilters and completely prime fuzzy hyperideals of S . In particular, we prove that a fuzzy subset f of S is a fuzzy hyperfilter of S if and only if the complement f ′ of f is a completely prime fuzzy hyperideal …of S . As an application of the results of this paper, the corresponding results in ordinary semihypergroups can be also obtained by moderate modification. Show more

Abstract: This paper investigates optimal operation management of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) in distribution systems. In this regard, the high penetration of electric vehicles (EVs) especially in the form of PEVs is another source of energy that can help the grid if optimally managed. In order to make the existence of PEVs to a suitable opportunity for the grid, vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology is employed to change the PEVs from moving loads into moving sources. We also suggest a novel smart strategy to first manage the operation of PV and PEVs for providing the operator targets and second model the uncertainties generated …by both PV and PEV in the system. The proposed method uses particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO) along with the point estimate method (PEM) to deal with these issues. The 69-bus IEEE test system is employed as the case study to examine the high performance and ability of the proposed algorithm. Show more

Abstract: Metro station plays crucial social and economic roles in easing metropolitan traffic congestion. To ensure the safe operation of metro station and obtain the real-time risk status of metro station, it is necessary to study dynamic risk assessment of metro station. Based on the real-time data collected by data acquisition equipments and research on metro station risk assessment, the dynamic risk assessment index system is established by considering people, equipments, environments, managements and accidents factors together. Considering the fuzzy uncertainty in the process of risk assessment, a new decision model combining interval type-2 fuzzy set and TOPSIS method is proposed …and applied to the metro station dynamic risk assessment. The results can reflect the actual risk status of metro stations objectively and are consistent with the real situation. A numerical example case of the metro station in Beijing is used to illustrate the effectiveness and practicality of our methods, which can provide effective decision support for decision-makers. Abstract: Sentiment analysis aims at extracting sentiment embedded mainly in text reviews. The prevalence of semantic web technologies has encouraged users of the web to become authors as well as readers. People write on a wide range of topics. These writings embed valuable information for organizations and industries. This paper introduces a novel framework for sentiment detection in Arabic tweets. The heart of this framework is a sentiment lexicon. This lexicon was built by translating the SentiStrength English sentiment lexicon into Arabic and afterwards the lexicon was expanded using Arabic thesauri. To assess the viability of the suggested framework, the authors …have collected and manually annotated a set of 4400 Arabic tweets. These tweets were classified according to their sentiment into positive or negative tweets using the proposed framework. The results reveal that lexicons are helpful for sentiment detection. The overall results are encouraging and open venues for future research. Show more
