Abstract: In this paper, we first introduce some operations on the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets, such as Hamacher sum, Hamacher product, etc., and further develop the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Hamacher correlated geometric (IVIFHCG) operator. The prominent characteristic of the operators is that they can not only consider the importance of the elements or their ordered positions, but also reflect the correlation among the elements or their ordered positions. We have applied the IVIFHCG operators to multiple attribute decision making with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy information. Finally an illustrative example for evaluating the digital image quality has been given to show the developed …method. Show more

Abstract: A cognitive model for sensorimotor system of self-rebalancing robot is presented based on Skinner operant conditioning principle. The model mainly consists of three parts, which are cerebellum, basal ganglia and cerebral cortex. In the model, the cerebellum realizes the mapping from sensorimotor states to actions by supervised learning mechanism, the basal ganglia decides the proper action based on the operant conditioning theory and the results of action forecast evaluation, and the cerebral cortex sends collected information to cerebellum and basal ganglia and consequently forms the closed loop feedback sensorimotor system. The structure, function and algorithm of the proposed model are …presented in this paper. Simulation and experimental results on a two-wheeled robot demonstrate that this model has better cognitive characters and it enables the robot to master the skill of balance control in movement through self-learning. Abstract: This paper concentrates on modeling probabilistic events with fuzzy probability measures in the object-oriented databases. Instead of crisp probability measures or interval probability measures of objects and classes, fuzzy sets are used to represent imprecise probability measures. A probabilistic object-oriented database model with fuzzy probability measures is introduced, which incorporates fuzzy probability degrees to handle imprecision and uncertainty. Based on the proposed probabilistic object-oriented database model, several major semantic relationships of probabilistic objects and probabilistic classes with fuzzy probability measures are investigated in the paper. Finally we define some algebraic operations for probabilistic objects and probabilistic classes with fuzzy probability …measures. Show more

Abstract: This paper outlines a concurrent design methodology for multidisciplinary systems, which employs tools of fuzzy theory for the tradeoff in the design space. This methodology enhances communication between designers from various disciplines through introducing the universal notion of satisfaction and expressing the behaviour of multidisciplinary systems using the notion of energy . It employs fuzzy rule-bases, membership functions and parametric connectives in fuzzy logic to formalize subjective aspects of design, resulting in a two-phase simplification of the multi-objective constrained optimization of a design process. The methodology attempts to find a pareto-optimal solution for the design problem. In the primary …phase of the methodology, a fuzzy-logic model is utilized to identify a region in the design space that contains the pareto-optimal design state, and a proper initial state is suggested for the optimization in the secondary phase, where the pareto-optimal solution is found. Finally, the impact of the designer’s subjective attitude on the design is adjusted based on a system performance by utilizing an energy-based model of multidisciplinary systems. As an application, it is shown that the design of a five-degree-of-freedom industrial robot manipulator can be enhanced by using the methodology. Show more

Abstract: In this paper, a multi objective location-routing model is developed and solved for a real case related to Petrochemical Special Economic Zone (PETZONE) located in Khuzestan (Iran). Decision makers can decide on optimum locations of suitable treatment, recycling and disposal centers, and also the routes for transporting of different types of industrial wastes between these centers by the help of the model. There are considered three criteria in the mathematical model which minimizing total costs of transportation and establishment of the centers and total transportation and site risks related to the population exposure along transportation routes and around treatment and …disposal centers. During the optimization process, waste collection system is improved by considering fuzzy customer satisfaction level. Finally, the model is computed and solved by Lingo software to find efficient solutions. Show more

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to explore route choice on road networks. The route choice model is divided into three levels: the generation of alternatives, the perception of alternatives and choice set, and finally the choice of alternatives belonging to the choice set. A deterministic, selective, multi-criteria approach is used to generate the routes. A covering measure is calculated by comparing observed and generated paths to take into account which routes are currently chosen. With regards to perception level, some simplifying hypotheses are assumed: one choice set is considered, the perception probability of the considered choice set is equal …to one, and all the alternatives are characterized by the same probability to be perceived. Choice level is treated using two different approaches: a random utility model and a fuzzy utility model are specified, calibrated and validated. A new fuzzy utility model is specified in order to simulate route choice level. The specified models are compared in order to highlight their similarities, advantages and disadvantages. The database used for calibrations is obtained with a survey carried out in Catania (Italy), concerning dairy products delivery to local retailers. The models are calibrated. It is possible to open new lines of research by comparing the results obtained from consolidated logit models and from fuzzy models. Show more

Abstract: In this paper, we study on the multiple attribute decision making problems for network security evaluation of computer network information system with triangular fuzzy information. Inspried by the idea of geometric Bonferroni mean, we develop the triangular fuzzy geometric Bonferroni mean (TFGBM) operator and triangular fuzzy weighted geometric Bonferroni mean (TFWGBM) operator, based on which we design two procedure for multiple attribute decision making under the triangular fuzzy environments. In the end, a practical example for evaluating the network security evaluation of computer network information system with triangular fuzzy information is given to testify the proposed method.

Abstract: Support Vector Machines (SVM) has recently received a great deal of attention in regression and classification problems for crisp data. However, the fuzzy structure of the system should be considered if available information is uncertain or imprecise. In this paper, a new approach called Hybrid Fuzzy Support Vector Regression (HF-SVR) is introduced for the linear and non-linear fuzzy regression modeling. According to the proposed algorithm, parameter estimates are obtained from the solutions of two optimization problems by using the basic idea underlying SVM and the least squares principle. Furthermore, different learning machines for non-linear fuzzy regression can be constructed according …to the selection of kernel function. In order to compare HF-SVR with the previously published fuzzy support vector regression methods, the data sets used in these papers are adopted. Based on the findings obtained from the numerical applications, it is determined that proposed method gives remarkable results according to the measure of mean square error. Show more

Abstract: New product forecasting is a challenging area of research, because unlike other forecasting disciplines, where the presence of historical data makes it possible to apply several analysis tools and techniques, new products suffer from scarcity of data to perform conventional analysis. Usually, the data analysis on analogical products is the only solution left and is in practice for so many decades. However, to find a reasonable analogical counterpart for a new product is challenging. In this paper, we propose a methodology based on Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy process (henceforth Fuzzy AHP) and Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution …(henceforth TOPSIS) to identify an analogical product for a given new product or an innovation. We further demonstrate the applicability of the method by taking a real life example of four consumer durable products in India. Show more

Abstract: This paper presents the “Tell me What I Need” (TWIN) Personality-based Intelligent Recommender System, the goal of which is to recommend items chosen by like-minded (or “twin”) people with similar personality types which we estimate from their writings. In order to produce recommendations it applies the results achieved in the personality from the text recognition research field to Personality-based Recommender System user profile modelling. In this way it creates a bridge between the efforts of automatic personality score estimation from plain text and the field of Intelligent Recommender Systems. The paper describes the TWIN system architecture, and results of the …experimentation with the system in the online travelling domain in order to investigate the possibility of providing valuable recommendations of hotels of the TripAdvisor website for “like-minded people”. The results compare favourably with related experiments, although they demonstrate the complexity of this challenging task. Show more
