From the Editor
I write this From the Editor in the Apple Store as I wait for my iPhone to backup so I can get a replacement phone. I’ve been having issues with my phone and it has finally been diagnosed as a hardware problem so replacement is the next step. I write about this experience as technology is an integral component to being able to work effectively. It can impact our ability to be productive, efficient and effective. In my case, it is allowing me to use a demo Apple computer to be productive as I try to patiently wait at the store for my phone and write this document using Google.
This issue of WORK has two sections. The first is a special section on the International Classification of Function (ICF) in Occupational Health co-guest edited by IJmert Kant and Ludovic G.P.M van Amelsvoort. It contains four articles and an introduction to the topic. My gratitude is extended to these guest editors. I know you will find this special section informative.
The second section contains 10 regular articles on a variety of topics including: exploring service delivery in occupational therapy, the effects of physical and psychosocial factors and ergonomic conditions on the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders among dentists, the employment experiences of women in recovery from substance abuse, suicide among emergency and protective service workers, managing stigma and workplace discrimination following moderate to severe brain injury, Veterans’ experiences maintaining employment among other interesting topics.
