Abstract: This article reviews and discusses current placement trends in public rehabilitation. In order to identify current trends a survey of state vocational rehabilitation agency administrators was conducted. Responses were received from 52 agencies representing 40 states. The results of the survey, along with current literature, resulted in identification of four key trends in placement services: increased emphasis on placement; reconfiguring placement delivery services; expanded employer development; and increased use of the Internet and other technology. The implications of these trends to rehabilitation counseling are also discussed.
