Abstract: This paper gives a brief history and overview of the e-Filing of Income Tax Returns (ITRs) in India and mentions some benefits of the e-Filing system for different stakeholders. It provides objective information based on reviews of literature and documents available on the e-Filing systems of different revenue authorities worldwide, especially the e-filing systems for tax related documents and forms. The paper explores the issues and shortcomings of the old e-Filing system of Tax returns in …India, with respect to the expectations of the stakeholders from the system. It also tries to highlight the factors that may have compelled the Government of India to take a decision for implementing the new e-Filing System of Tax. The paper explains the model/approach to execute the new e-Filing system in order to ensure that it gives a win-win outcome for all stakeholders (including the citizens of India). It explains why and how in this new system reliability and availability have been given prime importance while highlighting the recommended features and facilities of the new system, and the expectations of the different stakeholders. This paper also recommends that in future, the e-Return file upload type should be shifted to 'extensive Business Reporting Language' (XBRL) from current extensible Markup Language'. Show more

Abstract: The public sector plays a very significant role in the development of any country, so it is very important that the governance in these sectors should be very effective. E-governance is one of such initiatives, but as discussed by many researchers, the human factors do affect the success or failure of any technological initiatives. Thereby, the present research is focused to identify the human factors which play an important role as hindrances in adaptability of e-governance …initiatives in Public Sectors of India so that, by considering those factors in its implementation, the potential benefits may be achieved and good governance may be established. For the purpose, the primary data is collected from working people in the public sector organizations of NCR (National Capital Region) of Delhi, India. Factor analysis method is used to identify the most important factors which affect the adoption of e-governance initiatives which may further help the government in outlining these factors while implementing e-governance initiatives. Abstract: This study focuses on application of electronic technology or ICT in all-round functions of governance in Bangladesh for strengthening connectivity of government with citizens which is considered as a vital instrument to establish 'Digital Bangladesh'. E-Governance can accomplish the mandate of government in formulating a new vision of how government views its citizens, employees and businesses, and building a citizen-centered, service-oriented, public-participative government with efficient, accountable, transparent and performance government system. The …essay begins by describing the concept of e-Governance and Digital Bangladesh and provides an overview of the basic theoretical and practical issues of e-governance. The paper not only depicts the practices of e-governance on the way to ascertain Digital Bangladesh but also highlights the problems and prospects of e-governance in Bangladesh. It is true that available resources for e-Governance in Bangladesh are inadequate. However, rapid growth of information technology development presumably overcomes this barrier.
