Abstract: Slow diffusion of 8-aminoquinoline (H2NQ) into an ethereal solution of SbC13 affords the title compounds [Sb(HNQ)Cl2] and [H3NQ]+ [SbCl4]−. The X-ray crystal structure of the latter reveals discrete cationic units with the anionic units making up an infinite polymeric chain containing chloride bridges.
