Abstract: An off-surface visualization method using micro water droplets and a
laser beam sheet was developed. The average size of the water droplets
generated by the home-style ultrasonic humidifier was about 5-10 μm. This
method was pollution-free, eliminated the problem of toxicity, and provided a
sufficient density of tracing particles for good visibility. The method was
successfully applied to a visualization of the complex vortex flow of a
double-delta wing with strake.
