Abstract: Sydenham chorea is the most common form of acquired chorea in
developing countries. It is an incapacitating illness lasting for months and
requires drug therapy. In view of the significant side effects associated with
the drugs commonly used for the treatment of Sydenham chorea, we evaluated the
efficacy of olanzapine in six children with Sydenham chorea and found
encouraging results with no adverse effects.
