Abstract: Changes in the health care environment have made providers more competitive and business-like in delivering services. Health sciences librarians must expand their information retrieval skills beyond traditional medical resources to a new knowledge of basic business information resources. This will enable them to assist facility administrators and practitioners seeking needed business information. This article discusses a continuing education course designed to introduce these librarians to business reference books and online databanks. The goal of the course is to make health sciences librarians familiar with the disciplines, terminology and resources of business in order that they may show their patrons, administrators and clinical practitioners that they mean business.
