Note: [1] This article is an updated version of a paper delivered to a UK Online User Group one day seminar “Training the trainers” held at Aslib, London, 20th January 1988.
Abstract: The potential of CD-ROM as an online training tool is considered in the light of experience with information and library studies students, and UKOLUG members. The advantages of user friendliness, a relaxed atmosphere for training and no additional costs appear to outweigh any disadvantages. Availability of CD-ROM/online linked products will increase value for training. [French, German, and Spanish translations of this abstract can be found on pp. 451-453]
