Abstract: Reports survey data gathered from 95 library and information science education programmes in 36 countries for the 1986 International Committee programme meeting of the Association for Library and Information Science Education. Two null hypotheses are tested for differences among three classifications of regulated programmes for methods used to ensure the quality of educational programme and for categories of recent programme improvements. Topics suggested valued by the respondents for future international surveys are reported. Examples are shown of primary source material provided by several respondents. Addresses are given of programmes which seek international exchanges of information with similar programs. [French, German, and Spanish translations of this abstract can be found on pp. 367–368.]
