Abstract: Presents an analysis of how American and Nordic library schools are responding to the changing environment brought about by economic recession and new technology. After discussing the approaches taken by four U.S. schools the changes which have taken place in Nordic countries since 1972 are considered. Some differences between the two areas are listed.
