The editorial office was contacted by one of the corresponding authors, Yuan-Lin Zheng, and also by the Academic Committee of Jiangsu Normal University (ACJSNU), requesting the article to be retracted. Below the retraction request by ACJSNU in full:
In July of 2020, we noticed that PubPeer criticized this paper for violating academic integrity. As a result, ACJSNU launched an investigation to invite two independent referees to review the issues raised by PubPeer. Both referees agree with PubPeer’s opinions that the paper displays signs of scientific fraud. In the meantime, ACJSNU requested the major authors of the paper to provide the original experimental records and data for verification. To date, however, the authors have failed to provide the requested documents and data to ACJSNU for examination. Based on the above investigation results, we believe that the paper has violated academic integrity, and thus request to retract this paper.
