Abstract: In this paper, we use conference matrices and Plackett-Burman designs to construct some new three-level second-order response surface designs. The D-optimality values of the proposed designs are computed. These designs can fit the second-order response surface model with high efficiencies but with far fewer runs. Further, these designs are blocked orthogonally.
