Abstract: New organotin complexes, [SnMe2(dtc-pro)] (1) and [Sn2Bu4Cl2(dtc-pro)] (2), have been synthesized from reaction between SnR2Cl2 (R = Me or Bu) and dithiocarbamate derivative of L-proline (dtc-pro). These complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and 119Sn NMR spectroscopies. Spectroscopic data suggest a polymeric structure for 1 and a dimeric structure for 2, in which the ligand has been coordinated through both carboxylate and dithiocarbamate groups between two tin atoms. On the basis of 119Sn NMR data coordination number of tin atom in solution is five.
