Abstract: In this study, SBA-15 surface was modified with silane reagent to increase its surface activity. Zn2+ and Er3+ formed complex with dibenzoyl methane (DBM). Then, the complex was grafted on the surface of the modified SBA-15 to form M(DBM)3-(SBA-15) composite material. The organic ligand DBM enhanced the energy-transfer efficiency, and enhanced the luminescence intensity of the Er3+ ion. At the same time, Zn complex has strong absorption to ultraviolet light, which has enhances the luminescence of the rare earth ion. The Er3+ could be shielded when it was introduced into porous materials, which suppressed the temperature quenching effect. These factors made the M(DBM)3-(SBA-15) have much higher relative luminescent intensities.
