Abstract: In this work plastically deformed austeno-ferritic steel was studied in order to explain the mechanism of creation and relaxation of the plastic micro and macrostresses. Using neutron method the evolution of residual stresses inside the sample was measured. The experimental results were compared with the predictions of the finite element method (FEM) and self consistent model.
