Abstract: Deformation models are used for predictions of deformation characteristics, crystallographic textures and for interpretation of residual stress measurements. A basic element of any model is a law defining the interaction between a grain and a surrounding material. The level of interaction is very different in various models. The aim of the present work is to find the value of interaction parameter in a given material, using residual stress measurements. The estimation has been done for highly rolled steel via examination of the second order stress. In particular the “snake type” behaviour (in ϵ33 vs. sin2Ψ plot) was useful in this study.
