Abstract: This is a case report, with review of the literature, of an infant in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with the complication of a nasoenteric weighted feeding tube that assumed an overhand knot configuration. Knotting of the feeding tube is a rare occurrence related to the use of feeding tubes, and should be considered if the tube becomes nonfunctional, if there are clinical factors that might lead to displacement or malposition of the tube, or if there is excessive resistance or sudden onset of respiratory distress in association with attempted removal.
