Abstract: Nowadays, the pattern of global industrial competition is undergoing significant adjustment. As the basic energy industry in the development of national economy, the traditional coal industry is gradually becoming intellectualized to seek for a safe and efficient production mode. According to review of the current researches about the intelligent mine, most of them focused on the intellectualization of particular businesses, while the overall development of intelligent mines was rarely mentioned, and there were very few researches on the evaluation criteria of intelligent mines. Therefore, to evaluate the production system of an intelligent mine both reasonably and effectively, an evaluation index system was established by considering “eight systems” involved in the production setup of the intelligent mine. In addition, the weights for all the evaluation indexes were determined using an analytic hierarchy process (AHP). An evaluation model was built using unascertained measurement theory, and the unascertained measurements of each index were calculated. Finally, credible degree recognition criteria were used to determine the intelligence levels. The intelligent production system was evaluated using the 11504W working face in the Zhaizhen Coal Mine in Taian City, Shandong Province, China as an example of a practical application. The judgment results show that the coal mine is relatively intelligent, thus the feasibility of the evaluation model was verified, which provides a scientific basis for evaluating intelligent mines.
