Abstract: In the present communication, a new (R, S)-norm discriminant measure of Pythagorean fuzzy sets has been proposed along with its various properties. Monotonic behavior with respect to the parameters R & S and their proof of validity have also been studied. Methodologies and necessary steps of the algorithms for various decision-making problems viz. pattern recognition problem, medical diagnosis problem and multi criteria decision-making problem have been outlined on the basis of the proposed information measure. For the sake of illustration, numerical example for each case has been provided. A comparative analysis for the considered applications has also been studied in contrast with the popular existing methodologies stating important observations and advantages.
