Abstract: Fuzzy Quality Function Deployment (FQFD) is a type of probability logic system which deals with the analysis of values ranging from approximate, fixed and exact values, with respect to the traditional QFD theory. The 30TR FRP (TR-Ton of Refrigeration, FRP- Fibre Reinforced Plastic) cooling tower has lot of design defects which makes with this an excellent case study by using FQFD. The major design defects are found out to be crucial and need to be rectified. FQFD is the best suitable tool to evaluate and analyze the design characteristics problems. In this article the FQFD is implemented to identify the design characteristics that are to be modified and structural analysis is done by using ANSYS software. The first three higher value design characteristic defects are concentrated to find solution to the identified problem and improvement is achieved with the modified fibre reinforced plastic cooling tower (CT) by increasing the efficiency of 30 TR FRP cooling tower to 17%.
