Abstract: The key objective of this paper is to give a detailed account on rehabilitation of RC beams by means of a composite created with natural fibre called jute. For the sake of experimentation, seven under-reinforced beam specimens are cast with size of 2000 mm × 100 mm × 150 mm. One beam is permitted to perform as control specimen without any external wrapping and it is tested for its final load. The other six beams are loaded up to a pre-fixed level up to first crack. Then rehabilitation is performed by outwardly wrapping natural fibre (jute) reinforced polymer composites to the beam under various schemes. Their feat is contrasted with beams outwardly wrapped with Glass fibre reinforced polymer composites. Beams are tested under static load condition up to failure. The load, mid-span deflection and cracking pattern are vigilantly observed and estimated for the control beam and rehabilitated beams.
