Preface to Aging and Isokinetics

Dear IES readers,

In this issue we are much pleased to present a special series on isokinetic testing in elderly people.

The journal is honored in having Prof. Richard Bohannon serve as guest editor for the series.

As amply clear from the short Bio, Prof. Bohannon is a world figure in the area of motor performance in this sector of the population, particularly with respect to strength testing. The deterioration in muscle strength among elderly people is well documented and in recent years has even acquired a new term/descriptor – dynapenia – along the well-known term of sarcopenia.

I believe that the series will enrich the relevant literature and take this opportunity to thank Prof. Bohannon as well as the other contributors for their extraordinary effort.
