Abstract: In this paper the relations between the total resistance coefficient and the coefficient of pressure, friction, wave and viscosity resistance have been obtained on the basis of equations normalization for uncompressible fluid with the boundary conditions as well as a normalization of some general expressions for hydrodynamic reactions affecting the ships. This constitutes the foundation for a critical analysis of the ship’s resistance extrapolation methods. It has been proved that ah resistance coefficients can be functions of Froude, or Reynolds number simultaneously. These relations have created grounds for constructing four new equivalent extrapolation methods in which all extrapolation functions ki can be dependent on Fn and Rn numbers.
