Abstract: Four passive roll damping systems have been designed for the same ship on the basis of equal loss in cubic capacity. As design condition served the fully loaded condition leaving port. The unmodified tank installations are also considered in the loaded condition when arriving in port and when carrying ore. The ship’s rolling in beam seas with each of the tank systems in action has been obtained by computation according to a method outlined in Part I (report [1]). A comparison of the respective properties is made.
