Abstract: In his paper [1], the author solved mathematically the problem of determination of the ship’s bending moment in a seaway under static equilibrium with the Smith effect taken into consideration. In order to make the suggested analytical method more easily approachable for everyday shipbuilding engineering practice, the author in this paper offers an approximate solution of this problem. Starting from certain assumptions, the author worked out in advance all the coefficients necessary for these calculations and presented their numerical values in tables, which are to he used for rapid orientational calculations in practice.
