Abstract: The rapid development of e-commerce logistics express delivery industry has changed people’s living habits. Express delivery sorting center is very important in the operation of express delivery and has a direct impact on the efficiency of express delivery. Based on human factors engineering, this article is to optimize the design and operation of express delivery system where the current electronic order design and sorting equipment are not reasonable. The results show that the response time of the newly designed electronic order scanning is obviously shorter than that of the conventional electronic order, the efficiency is increased by nearly 30%, the error rate is now 0.31% from the previous 1.92%, decreased by 1.61%, which significantly improve picking efficiency and failure rate. The optimized pallet sorting equipment has greatly improved work efficiency, reduced the stress upon the staff’s body and joints, with an average decrease of 58.6%, which increased the comfort level of the operator to the highest level.
