Abstract: In order to design a contactless position sensor using coil impedance, the sensitivity and the linearity of impedance characteristics against the displacement are required. It therefore is very important to clarify the factors which affect the performance of position sensor. In this paper, the effects of components (core, coil and shield case) of position sensor on the impedance sensitivity are calculated by means of the experimental design method and the results are reported.
