Abstract: By analyzing the driving moment of the hydraulic support hand-control directional valve, this paper presents an electro-hydraulic control method for the directional valve with a magneto-rheological (MR) valve base. Firstly, the theoretical values of the control moment on the feed oil loop and return oil loop of the directional valve are calculated based on the operating principle of the valve and the stress analysis of the control mechanism. Then, the actuator of the directional valve with MR valve base is designed and the mathematical model of its operation moment is established. Simulation and test results show that this method can realize the electro-hydraulic control of the hydraulic support hand-control directional valve, and satisfy the regulation of intrinsic safety.
