Abstract: Efficient Non-Intrusive Inspection(NII) systems with high throughput are required for screening cargo containers at sea, air and land ports. Of all the available NII techniques, systems employing high energy X-rays have become very popular. Though well established, the probability of detecting contraband goods in the radiographic image obtained using conventional high energy X-ray systems is a function of operator skill and the orientation of the contraband material inside the container. In this paper, we present a limited-view tomography technique capable of reconstructing 2D tomograms of 3D objects. Such a system can be used in border security applications for screening cargo.
