Abstract: This paper proposes a novel scheme of thin steel plate levitation, which uses real-time finite elements calculation. The number of gap sensors is reduced using the proposed method. The simulation of the vibration, which occurs in the steel plate, shows the possibility of real-time installation. Then, the estimated gap length of the electromagnet in the one-end fixed system is compared to the experimental results. In spite of the difference in amplitude, the correspondence of the phase of the vibration clearly shows the possibility and the feasibility of the proposed system. Then, the experiment of the vibration control showed that a position could be estimated with FEM.
