Abstract: We propose an application of the PML absorbing boundary condition to a noncubic cell time-domain method using prism cells for 3-D full-wave analysis. To verify that the noncubic cell time-domain method can accurately simulate pulse propagation on microstrip waveguide terminated by applying the PML absorbing boundary conditions, we extracted S-parameter from a simulation of pulse propagation on a right-angled bend discontinuity. The performance of the noncubic cell time-domain method is shown and it exhibits superior accuracy in a large chamfer degree as compared with FD-TD results.
